Requirements for Citizenship (Blog #4)




Now that you have expressed you feeling about immigration and its importance, or lack there of, we now turn to "Citizenship" itself. Answer the following questions fully and completely. Research in your text or on the internet to find the correct answers.


Your Assignment:

1). What are the three basic requirements for citizenship?
2). Proof of what other qualifications is required during the naturalization process?
3). If you could change anything about the naturalization process, what would it be and why?

  1. 1.)applicant must be at least 18 years old, have continuously resided in the U.S. for five years after becoming a permanent resident, or must demonstrate good moral character.
    2.)Citizenship by birth in the United States.
    3.) I think you should have to take a written or observed test, i lean more to the observed test because if you can't respect the country then you'd get kicked out!

    2)Getting citenzenship by being born in the US.
    3)I would change the age for qualification to start the process of becoming a citizen.

    2. You must have a drivers license.
    3. I think you should have to take a test to prove you are informed about our government.

    2) The Citsenship by birth in the U.S
    3) I think that if you are coming into the country to stay that you should take a test so that everyone knows the rules, and about the U.S so there is no excuses for that.

  7. 1) cant break a law during time of becoming a citizen, 18 yrs old, cannot travel out of country during the time of becoming a citizen.
    2)being born in teh U.S.
    3)the age, bc it would help alot of people out. and the traveling out of the country bc i have a friend in North Platte that wanted to go to spain for christmas with his family and he wasnt allowed to

  8. 1. The applicant must be 18 years old, know the English language, and have good morals.
    2. Birth in the United States automatically qualifies one as a U.S. citizen according to the 14th amendment.
    3. Anyone who has illegal parents (irregardless of birthplace) should still be illegal. We should not make it seem like it's okay to be illegal.

  9. 1)18 years of age,lived in U.S.A for 5 years, and permmanent
    2)Applicant hold a legal status as a full-time resident for a minimum period of time and that the applicant promise to obey and uphold that country's laws, to which an oath or pledge of allegiance is sometimes added.
    3)Have a test to see if they will do good for the country and see what kind of jobs they can have so they dont take Americans jobs

  10. 1)Married to or living with the same U.S. citizen, who has been a U.S. citizen for at least three years, for the past three years \military service and employment are all factors which contribute to a persons ability to apply for citizenship.\Working for the U.S. government under contract
    2) they have to be born in the usa
    3)it would be that if you are born on in a country you didnt want to be born in you or your parent have a rite to change it

    2.By birth in the united states.
    3.Respect in the country is alot and everybody should go by that

    3. I wouldn't let any illegal people come in because they help us over populate to fast and we could have a 9 11 attack happen again.

    2.) The 14th Ammendment says that you are a citizen if you're born in the United States.

    3.) I would make the illegal immigrants take tests through real life simulation of being an American actually is.

    3.)I would try to limit the amount of illegal immigrants across the border by making anyone who wants to enter the country for a long period of time take a test about our culture.
